“I bought The Angel & Royal Hotel last year (2020) and embarked on a major refurbishment of all parts of the hotel including 31 bedrooms, all public areas and the two bars. I tried where possible to source local craftsmen and women to carry out the work and luckily found Chris King when looking to find somebody to completely redesign the two bars here. The Angel & Royal is the 2nd oldest hotel in the country and as such, we needed to by sympathetic to the history and age of the building whist still wanting to modernise the outdated and tired bars that were here. We gave Chris some very basic pictures of what we hope to achieve and the look we hope fore, and from that he came back with drawings of his vision for both bars. It was very obvious even at that early stage that we had employed not only a very capable and professional company, but that Chris himself would be involved in every aspect of the build. The finished product is without doubt one of the highlights of this huge project for me and has exceeded my expectations.”
